Introduction to Survey of Professional Media

My name is Samantha Carilu Werbiski Capitan. Most people call me Carilu or Cari for short. I’m Mexican-American and am very proud of dominating two languages. I am fascinated by salsa music and dancing and if I had the time, I would probably go dancing every night! This is the typical salsa environment I enjoy being in!

This is my fourth semester at Lindenwood University. I’m majoring in Print Journalism and Mass Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations. I would love to do so many things with my career that sometimes it’s hard to even choose what I’m most passionate about. One of my most beloved pastimes is reading, and the greatest of my passions is probably writing—although I don’t write as well as I would like. I suppose that this is because perfection is only possible when its polar opposite exists—which would then mean that another individual would be utterly incapable of completing or successfully doing anything at all. Yet, sometimes I feel I should hurry and find my “perfect” job before it is too late; then I remember that there is more time than life seems to give us. I’m still searching, but I honestly believe that that “perfect” job is going to find me instead. I really hope it has something to do with The New York Times though!
